Meet Dr. Firshein

Dr. Steven Firshein has lived in the South Bay area for almost three decades. In that time, he raised four children and built one of the best dental practices in the area, Manhattan Beach Dental. But dentistry isn't his only interest. He is an avid cyclist and he also enjoys tennis, volleyball, skiing--both snow and water, and martial arts. Additionally, he served as a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department for 15 years. Clearly, Dr. Firshein is committed to making his home a better place. He demonstrates this with both his civic engagement and the professional, caring and contemporary dental treatment he has provided in this area for over 25 years.

Dr. Firshein once said, "Living and working in the same area as my patients means that many of them have become friends, and I want my friends to have the best." His practice and his approach to dentistry exemplify what a dental home should be. He is certified to provide sedation dentistry during treatment, so patients may literally sleep through dental procedures. He is one of few dentists in the area to hold this certification. Sedation dentistry is only one way that Dr. Firshein provides gentle, caring dental treatment. Another way he provides his patients with the best is by staying current on dental trends and adopting new dental technology into his practice. Also, Dr. Firshein provides his patients with education and information in his willingness to discuss treatment options, dental procedures and techniques. He delivers this care with gentleness, compassion and warm humor. All things you would expect from a place to call "home."

Before making his home in the South Bay, Dr. Firshein grew up in New York City. He graduated from the City University of New York, with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. His dental doctoral program was completed at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He moved to California when he was accepted to the Marine Hospital Residency Program in San Francisco. He was introduced to dental specialties such as pediatrics, prosthodontics (tooth restoration), endodontics (root canal treatment) and oral surgery. His training continued as he served in the U.S. Public Health Service, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander, before retiring that post for the private sector and opening Manhattan Beach Dental.

Meet Dr. Peter P. Cacos

To those who know Dr. Peter P. Cacos, it was no surprise that he chose to become a dentist. He always put an artistic spin on everything he did. He loves working with his hands, and has always been a compassionate and caring friend. Working as a dentist allows him to combine all of these traits and apply them to treating his patients.

Dr. C,as his patients call him, fell in love with the South Bay and while attending college, he started his own catering restaurant in the Riviera Village in Redondo Beach. After graduating from Occidental College he attended USC's School of Dentistry and he and his family continue to be dedicated Trojans.

In 2003, Dr. C and his wife moved to Scottsdale, AZ. During this time away from California, he dedicated himself to expanding his dental knowledge by taking many advanced education classes by world renowned dentists at The Scottsdale Center,The Kois Center,Frank Spears Education, and many more. Dr. C believes that"… as a dentist it is my responsibility to improve my skills and knowledge to allow me to provide the best overall care I can for my patients". Because of this education and dedication to provide the best care to his patients, Dr C has invested in the latest technology allowing his patients to get the latest and greatest dentistry available.

Some of his patients call him the "Teddy Bear" dentist, others speak of him as a member of their own family. As his loyal following demonstrates, he truly cares for his patients and is honored to take care of those who entrust him with their oral care needs.

Dental Hygienists

Robin

Robin grew up in a small town in Northern California where she developed her warm caring personality. She moved to Los Angeles to attend the Univeristy of Southern California where she received her undergraduate in Biological Sciences. Wanting to pursue her love for people, health and teaching she applied for and was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program at USC. She graduated 2 years later at the top of her class. Robin has been with us at Manhattan Beach Dental Care since 2004. It is important to Robin to see her patients get the best care. She not only is passionate about keeping her patients healthy, she also loves to educate them and give them ways to improve their own oral health. Robin's caring nature allows her to be gentle yet very thorough with each patient Robin is married to RJ a local General Contractor and loves her dog Bailey. While she thoroughly enjoys her career she also feels it's important to help those less fortunate and has been an active member of the philanthropy group Sandpipers for a number of years.

Kallie

Kallie grew up in the San Fernando Valley. She attended Loyola Marymount University and graduated in 2001 with a B. Sc. in Natural Science & Kinesiology. Deciding to follow her parents into the field of Dentistry, she attended the University of Southern California and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene. Her outgoing personality, professionalism, and dedication to detail, ensure that she provides a high level of oral health care to each and every one of her patients.

Suzanne

Suzanne was born and raised in the South Bay. After Graduating from Idaho State University with a B.Sc. in Dental Hygiene she quickly returned to sunny southern California. Suzanne loves helping her patients achieve a healthy and happy smile! Married with two boys, Suzanna also enjoys to hike, camp, bike ride and traveling.

Dental Assistants

Rudy

Rudy has been in the dental field for over 24 years. He has been with Manhattan Beach Dental Care since 1992. Rudy always looks for ways to improve the patient's experience in our office. He listens to you and treats you like a member of our family. Personal relationships are just as important as professional relationships and everyone who comes into our office knows that Rudy will do everything he can to make their experience comfortable and even enjoyable with his professional and calming demeanor with a touch of his own sense of humor.

Nik

Niki is one of our friendliest and energetic assistants. She loves to assist and interact with patients. She has been a RDA for 14 years and has worked at Manhattan Beach Dental since 2008. She is always looking to learn more about dentistry and new dental technology. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and friends.

Tomas

Tomas is a blast to work with. He enjoys getting to know the patients, has a kind word to say about everyone, and truly loves dentistry. Tomas has been in the dental field since 1993. He brings exceptional back office experience along with an amazing enthusiasm to work everyday. As with the rest of us at Manhattan Beach Dental Care, he enjoys using the latest and greatest dental technologies for our patients' benefit. Tomas grew up in West Los Angeles and continues to live on the Westside. When he is not helping patients feel comfortable and relaxed at work, he volunteers as a Little League Baseball Manager/Coach for his son's baseball team.

Front Office

Cindi

Cindi has been one of our enthusiastic and friendly front office team members that will greet you when you come into Manhattan Beach Dental Care since 1991. She is an exceptional insurance and financial coordinator. Her comprehensive accounting skills and knowledge of insurance plans will help ensure that your dental benefits are maximized to your advantage. Cindi has lived in the South Bay for many years and enjoys walking her dogs, yoga and gardening.

Martha

Martha has been a chairside assistant since 2000 and joined Manhattan Beach Dental Care's team in 2006. She believes in the office motto of treating patients like friends and family. She enjoys helping you reach your dental goals. Martha was born and raised in Southern California. When not spending time with family she's at home caring for her exotic pets.
